Catering by the Bistro

The Bistro at Century Center was an upscale restaurant, which was forced to close last year when building management canceled its lease. The news came as a surprise, and many were disappointed to see it go. Although it was hidden in a residential building and parking was a hassle, you would forget it all once you stepped into the restaurant. With candles, a grand piano, and a fireplace, it was probably the most intimate restaurant setting in Hawaii. Waiters were formally dressed and service was impeccable. The food was classic, absolutely superb.

Owner Clifford Laughton was said to be looking to reopen the restaurant in a nearby locale, but it has been more than one year and the Bistro has not yet returned… as a restaurant, at least. The Bistro has for now returned as a catering service. While the intimacy of the restaurant will be missed, you can switch it for a different type of intimacy — Bistro food served in your own home.
